Kate Golding

Course tutor (CBTC) & Assessor (CTIC)

I am a Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CCAB), and am an ABTC ATI via PACT (of course!). My journey with dogs of course all started with a complicated dog of my own, Indie cocker spaniel, eventually resulting in me getting a job at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, starting as a rehomer, and then an assessor as i progressed. I then moved to Dogs Trust as a Training and Behaviour Advisor, before moving up north to Lincolnshire where i worked for a smaller rescue charity. I then studied at the University of Lincoln for my Masters in Clinical Animal Behaviour, as i set up my own business ‘Companion Minds’. This has been going 6 years now, running puppy, adolescent and force free gundog classes, 1-1 training, and clinical animal behaviour services on vet referral. I’ve recently started a part time role at the RSPCA as Regional Clinical Animal Behaviourist.

I currently have Jenson, an American bulldog cross who is 12 years old, and Monty, a working cocker spaniel who is 17 months old. I have trained and competed in agility for the last 10 years, running a friend’s springer in the top grade until recently, and hope that Monty continues to love our agility journey so we can continue that. Monty and I dabble in pet gundog training by ourselves, and of course we love adventuring together too. Outside of dogs……????!!
