  • We are midway through announcing speakers, the keynote speaker for 2026 which will be Zazie Todd, and we will also be joined by Jamie Pound.

    Zazie Todd Phd
    Zazie is an animal behaviour expert and the award-winning author of Wag: The Science of Making Your Dog Happy, Purr: The Science of Making Your Cat Happy, and Bark! The Science of Helping Your Anxious, Fearful, or Reactive Dog. She is the creator of Companion Animal Psychology blog and has a column at Psychology Today. She has a PhD in Psychology, an Advanced Certificate of Feline Behaviour (with Distinction) from International Cat Care, and is an honours graduate of the Academy for Dog Trainers. A Patron of the The Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). Originally from Leeds, she will be flying over from Maple Ridge Canada to be with us.

    Jamie Pound
    Jamie from UK Sniffer Dogs specialises in scent detection and reactivity. Scent detection has huge benefits for reactive dogs, helping them to focus, build confidence, and find calm through structured nose work. Jamie has seen first-hand how these techniques can transform dogs’ lives and strengthen the bond between dog and owner.

    You may have seen Jamie and Gemma featured on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, Crufts TV, and ITV’s You Bet, where Jamie and his sausage dog Lilly delighted audiences with their skills.

    Jamie is an The Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) Registered Animal Training Instructor. with the Professional Association of Canine Trainers (PACT).

    Emmanuel Oloyede
    Emmanuel graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine, and now works as a small-animal veterinary surgeon in Norfolk.

    Alongside clinical practice, he is completing his Animal Training Instructor qualification with PACT, and also a Master’s Degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour at the University of Lincoln, through which he will become a Pre-Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist. He also sits on The Board of Directors for the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC).

    As a founding member and former President of Animal Aspirations, Emmanuel remains passionate about inspiring young people to pursue careers working with animals. In 2024, he was recognised as one of the London Vet Show 30 Under Thirty.

    Anne McBride
    Anne is an Animal Behaviour and Training Council recognised Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Chair of the Association of Pet Behaviour Councillors. She has been practising since 1987. She was Director of the first UK University based course in the field of animal behaviour which ran at Southampton University from 1994 – 2015, where she still teaches and researches in the field of human-animal interactions.

    BRAVEHOUND
    The Charity aims to help heal the invisible wounds of military veterans with our specially trained assistance dogs.

    They provide assistance dogs to veterans who have a clinical diagnosis of a mental health condition such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression and anxiety.

    They are committed to the long term welfare of both the dog and the veteran they have been partnered with over the dog’s lifetime.

    Leading the presentation is the incredible Kirsten Dillon, Bravehound's Head of Training and Behaviour. With over 16 years of experience specifically working with veterans living with PTSD, Kirsten is a true authority in this field.

  • The venue is fully accessible, with lifts and level access. A PA system is used for all talks with a hearing loop available. Before the event we reach out to all attendees to ensure we can make any reasonable adjustments, such as allocated parking, sign-language interpretation or space for assistance dogs.

  • Ethics run all the way through PACT and Dogx is part of this.

    With Animal Welfare in mind, all refreshments and lunchtime food are plant based.

    Stallholders are also asked to only showcase activities that meet our Code of Conduct and high animal welfare standards.

    We actively take steps to reduce the environmental impact of this event and also offset carbon footprint for all attendees.

    Dogx recordings currently cost £50 for the whole event, or £15 individually.

  • Whilst the University of Winchester now charge for parking, it will be free for conference attendees.

    There are limited parking spaces adjacent to the auditorium, these will to be prioritised based on need and must be booked in advance.

    Attendees are asked to park in the main university car park (SO22 4NP)

    A free shuttle service will transport attendees from the main University car park to the auditorium.
