Nat has been working professionally in the companion animal sector since 2006, having spent 10 years as an ecologist and community wildlife officer at the Wildlife Trust conservation charity. Her love of dogs (and all species!) has been a driving force in her life, and has influenced her choices relating to what she of studies, what jobs she does and how she spends her free time. Nat still pinches herself that she’s part of PACT and feels that her experiences throughout her ‘portfolio career’ have led her to where she feels most at home. From walking neighbourhood dogs for pocket money as a teenager, her first job as a weekend kennel maid, to teaching puppy classes, speaking at conferences and lecturing at Winchester University . . . and now a Director of the most forward thinking, supportive, welfare-focussed, environmentally-conscious, ethical dog training organisations. What an amazing journey, and a huge honour!
Nat's aim as a behaviourist and trainer is to provide people that want to learn more about dogs with the understanding, knowledge and practical skills to confidently identify, manage and encourage safe and desirable behaviours. Ultimately, she wants to empower people to be respectful and considerate of the ethological needs of other species so that we can coexist safely and happily, whilst living fulfilled, enriched lives. She believes that by focussing on the dog/human relationship and encouraging effective and appropriate communication, we can live with our dogs (or any other species really!) more successfully.
Nat lives in Hampshire with her 5 dogs, 7 ducks, 3 goldfish, 2 tortoises and 1 human (Jay).
