Linda Michaels, M.A

We could not be more thrilled to have Linda speaking in her FIRST UK in-person engagement.

Linda is world renowned for both her wonderful academic and hands on skills in Dog Training.

She is the author of the wonderful “Do No Harm Dog Training and Behaviour Handbook” and creator of the, internationally acclaimed “Hierarchy of Dogs Needs”

Linda tirelessly champions effective, ethical methods through many channels and we are very excited indeed to have her present a talk for us (we know you will be too).

Tasmin Durston

To say we can’t wait to see Tamsin talk at DOGX 2024 is a HUGE understatement!

Tamsin is a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Clinical Animal Behaviourist, and accredited Dog Training Instructor with 27 years experience working predominantly for Blue Cross and Dogs Trust.

On top of all that she has also undertaken an MSc in Human Behaviour Change, in order to underpin animal welfare activity with evidenced behavioural science, and is currently studying for an MSc in Human-Animal Interaction and Wellbeing.

Tamsin is employed full-time as Dogs Trust’s Veterinary Intervention Development Manager. As well as providing emotional support for animals, Tam is keen to optimise human workplace mental and emotional health and has researched and authored a book, ‘Emotional Well-being for the Animal Welfare Professional’.

Tamsin will also be appearing on the Barks from the Bookshelf Podcast next week to talk all about her amazing book.

Stephanie Rousseau

Steph is an Irish dog trainer and canine behaviour consultant based in Dublin. In 2019 her first book, ‘Office Dogs: The Manual’ was published by Hubble & Hattie, and has subsequently been published internationally and multi-lingually. In the same year, she founded Happy Office Dogs, providing support and resources to dog-friendly workplaces. In 2022, her second book, 'How to Raise a Puppy: A Dog-Centric Approach', co-authored with the inimitable Turid Rugaas, was published. This book aimed to move away from the traditional approach to raising puppies and encourage guardians and professionals alike to adopt a more holistic, natural approach. Steph will be enlightening us all about this dog-centred approach to puppies in October. You won't want to miss it!

Ryan Dillon

Ryan has a MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour, is an animal training instructor and a lecturer that specialises in animal behaviour and welfare at Oxford Brookes University and Abingdon and Witney College. Ryan takes an interest in a variety of research areas, including animal behaviour and how humans (clients and students) effectively learn. He has a particular interest in understanding how research in these areas can inform industry practices and develop training plans

Simone Mueller

Simone Mueller, MA is a certified dog trainer and dog behaviour consultant (ATN) from Germany. She specialises in force-free anti-predation training and is the author of the three books of the

Predation Substitute Training series. Simone is proud to be an Associate Trainer at the Scotland-based Lothlorien Dog Training Club (AT-LDTC) and a member of The Initiative of Force-Free Dog Training, the Pet Professional Guild (PPG) and the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe (PDTE).

Our practical demo this year will be delivered by the wonderful charity that is Dog A.I.D

Dog A.I.D. is a national charity that changes lives by enabling physically Disabled people across the U.K. to train their own pet dog to become an accredited Assistance Dog. Dog A.I.D. works in partnership with a network of dedicated and experienced volunteer dog trainers who coach the charity’s clients to train their dog using reward-based, positive techniques. A Dog A.I.D. trained Assistance Dog increases independence by helping with practical tasks, building confidence, and reducing social isolation.
